IT’S ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE
Photography is all about LIGHT and about SEEING and about the fundamental techniques of the craft.
Here’s why you should join our workshop series…
Learn the FUNdamentals of photography while having FUN! From using your camera, to controlling Light, ISO, shutterspeed and aperture, from professionals, so you and your camera can work together and not against each other. Mastering the basics isn’t really as difficult as it seems when you are being guided by two of the best in the business.IT’S ABOUT THE LIGHT
The morning portion of the workshop is devoted to learning the basic skills necessary to progress as a photographer and take the kind of images you’ve dreamed of. The first and most important element of photography to be discussed, is LIGHT – because understanding how to control light is the secret of great photographers and powerful images. Along with fully understanding the Elements of Photography and their camera settings, participants will learn how to nuture their creativity, and realize there is no ‘wrong way’ to photograph something or someone. Your images must captivate you first and foremost – if they bring a response from others, that’s a wonderful bonus.
Participants will also learn how to see what is beyond the obvious in a scene, and gain insight on how to anticipate and capture the “decisive moment. Secrets of how to take powerful Environmental Portraits (portraits of one or more people in a particular setting – usually a place where the person works, lives or plays). Learning to see with a photojournalist’s eye, and look for the decisive moment where expressions and gestures enable you to create images that tell a story – far more than just what the person looked like on that day.”
IT’S ALL ABOUT “SEEING”!
One of the things that makes this Workshop different is that we look at things participants can do to enhance and improve their visual awareness. Photography is about more than just pointing a camera in the right direction and pressing the right buttons. It is, of course, about seeing and understanding photography is all about controlling light and using it to your advantage. You will leave the workshop not only a better photographer, but also with a keener eye and a greater appreciation and wonder of the world around you.
We will teach you the function of the camera’s settings, so you can maximise your time experiencing and developing creativity so your imagination can soar. Students will learn how to improve their people-photography skills, by stepping out of their comfort zone and directing their subjects and get the kind of images that friends and family will cherish. Here are just a few of the comments received from previous Photo Workshop participants:
